KIDS THAT CARE, New Brighton, MN
Sunday school kids from Christ the King Lutheran church in New
Brighton, MN know what being a Christian is all about. Ninety
children between the ages of 3 and 11 spent the month of February
collecting spare change lying around their homes in order to help
children with cystic fibrosis (CF).

To kick off the month of giving, Paige visited the kids one Sunday
so they could see what CF is all about. Evan Von DeLinde, a fourth
grader from Fridley, volunteered to wear Paige’s vest for the
demonstration. After wearing the vest for less than a minute at the
lowest frequency, Evan stated he would not want to wear the vest
twice a day for 30 minutes each time. When the vest was revved up to
the highest frequency, Evan told a giggling class that it felt like
“a machine gun.”
In total, these Christ the King youth raised $180 for life-saving CF
research. One day, when CF is no longer taking the lives of
children, these kids will be able to look back and know they made a
difference.
